Let’s Help Animals was founded on a simple belief: no pet should face homelessness, overcrowded shelters, or preventable suffering because essential spay and neuter care was financially out of reach.
Every year, thousands of animals enter shelters due to accidental litters and limited access to affordable preventive veterinary services. For many families, the cost of care becomes a barrier to responsible pet ownership, resulting in increased pet overpopulation and unnecessary strain on animal welfare resources throughout our community.
Our mission is to help remove those barriers by providing financial assistance that helps qualifying pet owners access affordable spay and neuter services through our veterinary partner, San Diego Affordable Spay & Neuter Clinic.

| Why Spay & Neuter Matters | 
Spaying and neutering remains one of the most effective ways to reduce pet overpopulation and prevent unnecessary animal homelessness.

Each year, millions of healthy, adoptable animals enter shelters across America. Many never make it out. The cause isn’t a lack of love, but often it is a lack of being able to care for their pets' medical needs, along with some of the basic needs: affordable spay and neuter, and affordable vaccines

When families can't afford to sterilize their pets, unplanned litters create a ripple effect: more homeless animals, overcrowded shelters, and heartbreaking euthanasia decisions.

In low-income communities, this problem intensifies, forcing families to choose between feeding their children and caring for their pets. We believe this is unacceptable. And we've spent nine years proving there's a better way.

Expanding Access to Preventive Veterinary Care

Pet overpopulation cannot be solved through sheltering alone. Meaningful change begins with access to affordable preventive care that helps families keep their pets healthy while preventing unwanted litters before they occur.
Let’s Help Animals works to remove financial barriers that prevent pet owners from obtaining essential spay and neuter services. Through donor support, community partnerships, and grant funding, we help qualifying families access affordable surgical care through our veterinary partner, San Diego Affordable Spay & Neuter Clinic.
Since 2016, our affiliated veterinary partner network has helped deliver more than 150,000 successful spay and neuter procedures throughout San Diego County. By supporting access to these services, we are helping reduce pet overpopulation, decrease shelter overcrowding, and create a healthier future for pets and the families who care for them.
